Basildon was designated a new town in 1949 and grew as a collection of neighbourhoods around a central hub. That spread-out shape means people here lean on cars and vehicles more than most, and it is why airport transfers and group travel are the two services we are asked for most in Basildon.
Airport transfers from the Basildon area
Southend and Stansted are both within reach by road, with Heathrow and Gatwick reached by way of the A127, the A13 and the M25. Whichever airport you fly from, we collect from your home at the time agreed, and on return we track the flight and meet you at arrivals. Our Southend and Stansted pages go into detail on each.
Group travel from town
Schools, clubs, churches and companies in Basildon regularly need a vehicle for twelve or more. Our minibuses seat 12 to 19 and our coaches seat 33 and 57.
- School trips and educational visits
- Sports clubs travelling to away fixtures
- Staff outings and company days
- Group transfers to the airport or the cruise port
Evenings out in Basildon
The Festival Leisure Park, the Towngate Theatre and the town centre bring people in for the evening. A minibus for a birthday party or a group night out means nobody has to drive and the whole group gets home together.
Country parks nearby
Wat Tyler Country Park at Pitsea and Langdon Hills Country Park offer a day out within the borough. If you are planning a family or group trip further afield, see our day trips outside London.
Trains and roads
Basildon station is on the c2c line to Fenchurch Street, and the A127 and A13 link the town to London and the coast. A chauffeur is the better option for early starts and heavy cases, for groups and for journeys the railway does not serve.
Neighbourhoods we collect from
Basildon town centre, Laindon, Pitsea, Vange, Langdon Hills, Wickford, Billericay and Nevendon are all covered.
Planning a group trip from Basildon
Before you ask for a quote, it helps to have these to hand:
- The date, and the times you want to leave and return
- The number of adults and children, or of staff and pupils
- Pick-up points, if the group is meeting in more than one neighbourhood
- Your destination, and whether you want any stops on the way
- Luggage, equipment or accessibility needs
A night out for a large group
For a birthday or a leaving do, a minibus keeps the whole group together, and a single drop-off and pick-up is simpler than half a dozen taxis. Agree a pick-up time with us, and confirm the finish time when you know it.
