Thurrock is where the Thames estuary meets the M25. It has a working port, a deep-water container terminal, a cruise terminal and the Dartford Crossing, so a lot of travel from here starts or ends somewhere with a ship in sight.
Cruise passengers and the port at Tilbury
Cruise ships sail from the Port of Tilbury, and many passengers from Thurrock and the surrounding area choose to travel with us rather than drive and park. We take groups and families with plenty of luggage to the terminal, and collect them on return. We also run transfers to Southampton and Dover; see cruise port transfers for all three ports.
Crossing the Thames
The Dartford Crossing carries the M25 across the river between Thurrock and Kent, and it is a major route for journeys to Dover, to Gatwick and to the south. We plan transfers across the crossing and know how the local roads, including the A13 and the A1089 to Tilbury, fit together.
Grays, Lakeside and the town centres
Grays station is on the c2c line to Fenchurch Street, and Lakeside Shopping Centre at West Thurrock draws visitors from across Essex and Kent. For people who live here, a minibus is the easiest way to move a group to a night out or an event in London.

A cruise-day checklist
A cruise starts and ends with luggage, so it is worth sorting the details before you go:
- Your port, ship and boarding time, so we can plan the collection
- How many people and how many cases, so we send the right vehicle
- Your return date and arrival time at the port, so we can arrange the journey home
- Whether anyone in the party needs extra help with access
Routes south of the river
Journeys to Dover or to Gatwick usually cross the Thames at Dartford and follow the M25 and the Kent motorways. We plan the route around your timings, and we allow for the river crossing, which can be a bottleneck at busy times.
